| Congrats to Sheff...2009 ASA Street Stock Champion at Tucson Raceway Park |
The F.A.S.T. Racing team wraps up the 2009 season in championship form....again.
Loren "Sheff" Sheffield returned with his 2008 Tucson Raceway Park # 96 camero
Championship Street Stock (formally known as Factory Stock) to capture the ASA Street
Stock championship, back-to-back championships!
Jon Martinez (AJ's step-son) began the year returning with his 2008 Tucson Raceway
Park # 96 Toyota pick-up Championship Pro-4 (formally know as Sport Compacts). Three
quarters into the season, The Pro-4 # 96 was sold to Matt Vincent and Jon was moved up
to pilot the Street Stock # 97 for a couple events during the 2009 season. With one race
left in the 2009 season, the SS # 97 was traded for an X-Mod to run at USA Raceway,
Tucson, AZ, on a part time basis during the 2010 season. Jon finished 4th in the overall
points for the Pro-4 division.
Tom Mikla returned to pilot the # 96 South West Tour Truck (formally known as West
Coast Pro Truck) for selected events at the half mile Toyota Speedway in Irwindale,
California. Tom finished in 16th in the overall points for the tour trucks.
AJ Davis, Director Of Operations for F.A.S.T. Racing, expresses his appreciation for all of
those who supported the team for the 2009 season. Complete 2010 plans have not yet
been firmed up. At a minimum, we will run the South West Tour Truck series in 2010 and
sprinkle in some x-Mod shows with the kid. Our team will continue to provide local
support for several of the TRP Street Stock teams.
